What they say about us...

"With La Pergoletta, I feel like I've found a little hidden golden nugget. This small little unassuming cafe with checked table cloths has wedged its way into my heart. The pasta is some of the best in the city. Everything is handmade, from scratch. Prices are fair..." "I had the pappardelle boscaiola, which is a mixture of bolognese sauce and cream sauce, aka my wildest dreams realized. So good, tastes like home. My fiance had fettuccine alfredo with chicken...very simple but they knocked it out of the park. Service was a little slow, but I honestly didn't mind as we didn't have a reservation and I enjoyed the extra time to take in the surroundings and talk with my date." "... This place is my new secret weapon."

"Some very tasty italian dishes. The place was busy and I do recommend making a reservation..." "...The place is homey and casual, yet cute and romantic. Every table has one of those large candles dripping wax over an old wine bottle. I don't think You could go wrong with any of the pasta choices or sauces since they are all made in house. I ordered the Brie prosciutto bruschetta with honey and tomatoes and basil! Delicious combination. I ordered the pappardelle special and it was amazingly delicious. Meat sauce mixed with mushroom sauce. My fiancé ordered the stuffed ravioli And it was delicious. Only problem was it literally came with 6 raviolis the size of ritz crackers. Id say that's a dish that is really small portion sized. So if you are starving, go with a different pasta choice. Also the espresso with ice cream is to die for! Great after dinner treat. But I did love this place! And I would recommend it to whoever wanted a great italian meal."

"I'm so impressed with this little restaurant, that I have to write about it for a while. Wanted to try this place for a while, and a few days ago I did. Came without a reservation, 7:45 on a Thursday evening. There was a line outside and a waiting list on the wall by the door. Me and my girlfriend prepared ourself for a bit of a wait, and wrote our names down, but lucky us several tables for 2 finished and left within 5 minutes Wow!! Charming from the outside, tables and flowers, although in a street mall, but welcoming What a great little place on the inside. The walls are covered with copper pots and terra cotta plates and statues. Old Italian pictures everywhere, but different than the normal Italian restaurant I've been. Really like a home is. Very personal. You can feel almost like you get a little insight of the family that runs it. Checkered table cloths and paper on top to doodle on. We got sat near the counter, and had the whole view of the entire place. A few pictures on the wall near the restroom of 'young' chef as a boxer, motorcycle racer and chef, back in Modena, Italy. (we found out from a waiter) Cool Small, only 13 tables, mostly tables for 2 people. We studied our menu` for quite a while, because, although only a few pages long, the combinations seem almost infinite! They let you choose a pasta that you like: spaghetti, gnocchi, fettuccine etc. and then you can pick a sauce of your choice from almost 30 sauces for that pasta. The wife of the chef and owner, came to our tables and walked us through the most popular combinations, while her husband in the kitchen was yelling orders in Italian to the staff. I really thought I was back in Roma!! We started with the Bruschetta with Prosciutto and Brie, and I knew right then and there, we had found gold!! What a perfect antipasto. We also got a basket of Focaccia they bake in-house and ciabatta with olive and rosemary that was beyond great. I got the biggest lasagna Bolognese I ever had. Real thin pasta. Almost melts in your mouth. Lasagna Bolognese with the besciamella sauce like my mamma used to make in Italy, plenty of Bolognese sauce and Parmigiano cheese. My girlfriend got the fettuccine Cosa Nostra, suggested by the wife's chef, with shrimp, garlic, cognac, gorgonzola cheese and cream. OMG!!! The pasta, even though is fresh egg pasta, is still a bit 'al dente'. That is what I'll get the next time for sure, because I love cream. I could barely finish the lasagna, but it was so good I could not leave even a bite. I was so full at the end that I couldn't get dessert, only a coffee. LAVAZZA. Yes!! Again, like being back at home in Italy. My girlfriend did take a panna cotta with berries. I took a little bite because I had to try it. Fenomenal!! And everything for under $45!!it doesn't get any better than this! Service was spot on. Food came out after a while, not right away, but they make it with love. The plates are beautiful, with the décor designed by the chef. Super cool Awesome, little unassuming place. We were made feel at home. Really like if I was invited to a friend's house. We got to briefly meet the chef at the end of the night, and although he was rushing home with a bag of pastas for his kids, he stopped by our table to say hi and give us a bit of the history of his upbringing. We spoke Italian, and my Girlfriend loved it Great unexpected evening. I'll tell everyone I know about this place, although I'd like to keep it a secret. Only down for me was: First) just one restroom, (I had to wait a bit before I could go, but they're putting a second one in the next couple of weeks, when they'll also get the wine permit, that they don't have yet). Second) not many parking spaces in the street mall, although around the block there's plenty, and unmetered. But who cares!! I'd walk 10 block away for this. And they'll need to get a valet service soon Bravissimi!!!"
